Social Synthetics
Working prototype system for gesture recognition. The aim of the work was to produce an interactive environment where performers or visitors could engage and communicate with a synthetic entity through the use of gesture.
By using a video entity programmed with appropriate responses, the focus of the project was in creating a user experience that was an emotive and intimate form of human-computer interaction. Moreover, the objective was to break down the formal structures of computer interfaces by using the entity's expressive capabilities to induce such an emotional, non-verbal form of interaction.
